Genetics

This exceptionally tender and juicy meat comes from the Nagano line of pigs, named in honour of our Japanese customers.

This unique hog lineage has been carefully developed according to precise specifications for desired characteristics, particularly increased marbling. This has required several generations of cross-breeding, and many years of work and fine-tuning.

Lucyporc hogs are of the same genetic breed, thus contributing to product uniformity and consistency—an important, and distinctive, Nagano characteristic.
